Students desiring socialization will enjoy our field trips and other opportunities for student-to-student interaction. Students have the opportunity to socialize during free time in their teachers’ virtual classrooms, in supervised chat rooms, and through email. We offer many opportunities similar to a traditional school: National Honor Society, yearbook, literary magazines, clubs, class rings, and a traditional graduation ceremony. We continue to add new opportunities based on frequent surveys completed by our students and families. Our surveys assess satisfaction and effectiveness of classes, school programs, and other services, helping us to better meet the needs of our students and families. Unlike traditional schools, we do not have scheduling conflicts. The flexibility available in our setting allows students to work at their own pace. Students are encouraged to communicate their unique needs and situations, which then enables our teachers to individualize the instruction for each student. Most of our students are college bound, and our graduates have been accepted to some of the finest colleges and universities. Over the past four years an average of 73% of our graduates went on to attend college. 21CCCS graduates are attending or have attended Yale University, Drexel University, Cambridge, Penn State University, Curtis Institute of Music, Temple University, and Manhattan School of Music - just to name a few! He or she must be willing to ask for help when needed and be able to communicate electronically. The most important characteristic is student motivation — it is the key to success in our online school. Home
